IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 13, 2005 – Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today introduced the TDP-S8U projector, a high-performance, portable presentation tool for educators, mobile professionals, corporate users and small-to-medium-sized businesses priced affordably at $7991.
Offering premium projection technologies at a value price, the Toshiba TDP-S8U delivers a powerful combination of brightness, portability and versatility. With its lightweight design, the TDP-S8U is perfect for use in virtually any room size, in the office or home. The projector features DLP™ (digital light processing) technology producing bright, high-quality images, 1800 ANSI lumens, a 2000:1 contrast ratio and native SVGA 800x600 resolution.
In addition to its impressive display quality, the TDP-S8U includes a range of capabilities and connectivity options designed to meet the demands of today’s multimedia presentations such as composite, S-video inputs and audio in/out capabilities. Users can also connect the projector to a standard cable connection or DVD player, making it a multi-use projector ideal for both business and entertainment.
A monitor output connector allows users to view presentations from an external display, in addition to what is projected on the screen. This feature allows presenters to face their audience directly, rather than turning around to read slides as they appear on the screen.
“The TDP-S8U is designed to offer superior brightness and functionality at the best projector price from Toshiba to date,” said Alex Ijuin, assistant general manager for Toshiba DPD’s Projector Business Unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. “It’s perfect for those looking for a quality projector with optimum features at a reasonable price.”
Weighing only 4.4 pounds2, users can easily transport the projector in between classrooms, offices or when traveling. The TDP-S8U sports a newly styled chassis, designed to fit in professional as well as casual settings appropriately.
The TDP-S8U incorporates user-friendly features, including one-touch auto set up, keystone correction and a fully loaded remote control to ensure worry-free, professional presentations. Users simply plug the projector in and can begin making presentations.
With a whisper quiet fan that runs at approximately 31dB (decibel adjusted) in low mode, the projector will not distract the audience.
The Toshiba TDP-S8U is available immediately through Toshiba’s authorized distributors, dealers, VARs, retailers or mail-order outlets.
