"I’ve Bought My Flat Panel Display; Now I Need a Mount"

Flat Screen Display Purchases Driving Need for Display Mounts

TFCinfo has published a new research report entitled TFCinfo Flat Screen Display Mount Study 2006, that enables display mount manufacturers and dealers to understand usage and trends in the display mount hardware market, and provides companies with the information needed to create targeted marketing initiatives, and to grow their overall business.

TFCinfo's report reveals that the highest rated reasons for choosing a flat screen display over other display types, regardless of user group analyzed, is the ability to mount the display to a wall or ceiling, and the ability it has to save space. Flat screen purchases are driving the need for mounts, and the buyer's interest in reducing floor usage is driving the mass interest in mounting flat screens on walls and ceilings. More than 90% of all respondents surveyed state they have or will consider a wall mount for their flat screen display! This report also reveals that more than three-fourths of past and future display mount purchasers are most interested in the ability to tilt their display. Also, by observing shoppers, TFCinfo has learned that while buyers tend to spend significant time price comparing when purchasing their pricier flat panel displays, their purchase of a display mount is less driven by price and is facilitated significantly if the prepared salesperson suggests it during flat panel purchase. Upselling to a tilt mount, when appropriate, is easily accomplished during the flat panel purchase.

The TFCinfo Flat Screen Display Mount Study 2006 provides significant insight into the display mount industry through the eyes of past and future purchasers, with a sample population of both corporate and home-use respondents. This sophisticated survey answers the questions: where do your sales come from, why do customers buy, what do they want, why don't they buy, and what do manufacturers need to understand to create more sales. TFCinfo Publishes First Ever Monthly Professional Display Mount Market Trend Report

TFCinfo has witnessed the growth in flat screen and projector mounts over the last few years. While other AV manufacturers of projectors, plasma and LCD displays have been able to track their markets through reports such as TFCinfo's point-of-sale reports, forecasts, shipment and distribution channel trend reports, there has been little information available for mount manufacturers to help them track the growing mount market trends.

TFCinfo has created the first-ever monthly professional display mount market trend report. TFCinfo has been working hand-in-hand with mount companies and their top channel partners and resellers to create a simple and easy way to track a multitude of mount industry trends. TFCinfo has been coalescing and analyzing sales data from the largest mount dealers, distributors and channel partners to be able to publish this exciting trend report. TFCinfo's report provides display mount trends by mount (flat panel or projector), mount type (wall, desk, ceiling etc.), size, adjustability (tilt, swivel, etc.) and more. The first results have been just been printed.

For the first half of 2006, 82.5% of the nearly 100,000 mounts analyzed by TFCinfo in their professional mount trend report were wall-style mounts, while 14.8% of the mounts tracked were Desk or Table Flat panel mounts.

AudioVisual Trends in the Church Market
The emergence of a new ministry style in America.

By combining educational, teaching-style sermons with contemporary music ministry, visual presentations and praise bands, America has created the contemporary worship service. These services provide a more compelling and satisfying environment of teaching for both pastor and listener, and with the use of audiovisual aids, these teachings are grasped more quickly and retained longer. It is this style of worship service that is driving the growth and the use of AV equipment.

For over four years, TFCinfo has been researching the use of Audiovisual technology in the church market and publishing the results in TFCinfo's Church Market Survey Series. TFCinfo has found this to be one of the most interesting vertical markets that they have immersed themselves in. The information contained in each of these research reports is useful for any manufacturer, not only those that are currently targeting this church market. These technology-aware churches have money, and are willing to spend it on A/V equipment.

TFCinfo Has Just Published a 2006 Study on The Use of Projectors in Houses of Worship

TFCinfo found in their most recent report, The Use of Projectors in American Churches 2006, that 44% of all US churches (even small ones) have spent more than $11K on projection alone. This cost goes up rapidly and dramatically with the size of the church. Churches surveyed with 1,000+ seats spent an average of $79,535 on projection!

Besides studying the use of projectors in American Churches, TFCinfo has also published a report on how churches purchase, budget and use audio equipment.

Data findings for each of these reports in this church market survey series are provided in total, by church size, and also by geographic location.

Current research reports available in this series include:
--The Use of Projectors in American Churches 2006 (new research conducted in partnership with Church Production Magazine)
--The House of Worship Audio/Sound Systems Study 2005 (conducted in partnership with Church Production Magazine)
--Broadcast in Houses of Worship (upcoming research conducted in partnership with Technologies for Worship Magazine)

Church Channels - Churches Now Use Various Broadcast Methods to "Get the Message out".

TFCinfo and Technology for Worship Magazine Partner to Study The Use and Trends of Broadcast Equipment in American Churches.

During its interviews of churches throughout America, TFCinfo found a surprising number of churches were using very sophisticated broadcast equipment and techniques to reach their audience. Gone are the simple days of radio and televangelism. Today a whole new breed of technology-sophisticated churches are using streaming video, internet sermons, and podcasting, as well as the traditional airwaves to get the message out. TFCinfo has partnered with Technologies for Worship Magazine to research the topic of The Use of Broadcast Equipment in American Churches. Within the next 30 days, TFCinfo will begin its interviews of large and small churches across the United States to more fully understand and quantify the use of broadcast equipment in American Houses of Worship. The results will be analyzed and published in the first-ever study in the "TFCinfo: The Use of Broadcast and Equipment in American Churches 2006" (Pre-purchase discount available).

TFCinfo has brochures and outlines available for all end user research reports. If you would like more information on any of the reports or services offered by TFCinfo please contact Tanya Lippke, manager of survey market research, by email tmlippke@tfcinfo.com, or by phone (207) 783-0055.
