NEC Launches Industry's First Lamp Protection Program

Chicago, April 6, 2005 - NEC Solutions (America), Inc. introduces the new NEC Lamp Protect(TM) Program. This first ever program for education and government customers provides lamp protection for up to three years from the purchase date of the projector. The cost of the program is just $295, less than the replacement cost for one lamp. The program is simple: customers send in their expired lamp, and a new lamp is shipped out the next business day.

"We understand that lamp burnout can be a costly added expense to owning a projector, and that schools and the government are all on a tight budget," said David Woolf, Senior Marketing Director for NEC Visual Systems. "NEC has now eased this burden, providing ease of mind for the total cost of ownership of a projector, and importantly, minimizing critical down time."

In fact, TFCinfo's 2005 Projector Brand Strength study found that the most overwhelming down side of using a projector is the expense of replacement bulbs.

As a result of this innovative protection program, NEC is poised to continue its leadership position in service and support. According to a recent Pacific Media Associates reseller survey, NEC ranked as one of the leading display manufacturers for product quality/reliability and warranty
repair/return programs. In addition, a recent study from TFCinfo showed NEC projectors and plasma displays are among the highest quality products in the industry.

The NEC Lamp Protect Program must be purchased within 90 days from the date of projector purchase, and covers up to three years or two replacement lamps, whichever comes first. The program is valid on all of NEC's affordable, high performance VT series projectors, including the VT47, VT470, VT570, VT670 and the VT770. The Lamp Protect program begins on April 1, 2005 and is available though authorized NEC resellers. Further information can be found at www.necvisualsystems.com.
