IRVINE, Calif.--March 1, 2005--Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division, maker of award-winning, high quality presentation and display products, today introduced two new projectors that reaffirm the company's commitment to value and ease-of-use: the EX100U and ES100U.

The EX100U is Mitsubishi's most affordable XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) projector to date with an estimated street price of under $2,000. Perfect for business environments, the 6.4-pound EX100U is easy to transport, blasts 2000 ANSI lumens for outstanding brightness in most meeting rooms, and has a 2000:1 contrast ratio for greater detail in dark images and video.

Mitsubishi's new ES100U SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) projector also provides 2000 ANSI lumens and a 2000:1 contrast ratio. The ES100U, with its 5,000 maximum lamp life and a one-year limited lamp warranty, is positioned to be the best buy for educational institutions looking for the most value in projectors. It is also ideal for simple home theater setups that can take advantage of its rich contrast in video viewing or electronic games.

"These new projectors offer our dealers a wide range of affordable choices for almost any application," said James Chan, director, projector product marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "Now, there is a Mitsubishi projector to address every level of performance and price."

More Savings - Filter Free

Like the XD400 family, Mitsubishi's EX100U and ES100U projectors are powered by Texas Instruments DLP(TM) chip technology and have been designed with optic engines that are sealed and protected, and do not require a cumbersome filter. This advanced filter-free construction makes Mitsubishi's projectors easier to maintain and use. By eliminating the need for a filter, the occurrence of problems typically associated with clogged filters, such as overheated lamps and premature failure, are reduced. End users and service departments tasked with the responsibility of inspecting, cleaning and replacing projector filters every three to six months will appreciate easier maintenance schedules and lower overall cost of ownership.

"Our dealers now have more options to offer their customers, and for our users, a greater variety of projectors to choose from," said Aki Ninomiya, vice president, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "Mitsubishi is pleased to provide a diverse, economical product line for any presentation venue."

Both projectors come with Mitsubishi's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor and like all Mitsubishi XGA projectors, the EX100U is covered by the Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service provided for units under warranty that offers next business-day replacement for down units.
