Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Introduces 42", 50" and 61" Plasma Displays Sleek Medallion line includes enhanced definition and high definition displays for sharpest pictures in plasma.

Huntington Beach, Calif. --- Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc., today introduced its new Medallion line of plasma displays at its annual dealer line show in Huntington Beach, Calif.

The three new models, which come with PC inputs, include the 42-inch PD-4245 display; the 50-inch PD-5050, and the 61-inch PD-6150 display. All will be available at selected retailers later this year.

"Our new Medallion line offers sleek, refined styling, and in the 50-inch and 61-inch models, the highest resolution available in plasma technology," said Max Wasinger, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "When coupled with Mitsubishi's new HD-6000 Digital Receiver-Controller, they become true high definition televisions with state-of-the-art features, performance and ease-of-use."

The 42-inch display, which comes with a matching base and speakers, offers 852 x 480 pixel resolution, while the two larger sizes boast 1365 x 768 resolution that delivers some of the sharpest pictures available in plasma. The new models boast improved brightness, contrast and color accuracy, along with high performance upconversion processors and image scalers, for the best image reproduction Mitsubishi has ever offered in plasma displays.
In separate announcements, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduced its new lines of LCD and plasma displays, Digital Cable Ready projection televisions, microdisplay projection televisions, and its expanded line of DVD players, HD digital recorders, and analog VHS recorders.
